I looked down at Michael. He was so beautiful. I was singing just for him, and he knew it.

Motion caught my eye, distracting my attention from Michael. Isabel was leaving! That bitch! She was leaving in the middle of MY set! I could snap her neck.

Michael and Max shared a quick look, and then Michael smiled at me. A great big smile. I nearly passed out. Then he got up and went after Isabel. I kept singing.

"I wonder why Isabel ditched," Alex said. I rolled my eyes.

"She's just a bitch Alex. Deal with it," I said. I was being harsh, but I was royally pissed.

"She is not!" he protested.

"What is your obsession with her?" I asked.

"What's your obsession with Michael?" he countered.

"He's my boyfriend, which is more than I can say for you and Isabel," I replied.

"That was cold, Maria," he said. He walked out.

Dammit! I was so stupid sometimes. I hurried after him.

"Alex, wait!" I called.

"Maria," Michael said my name. It sounded so wonderful having him say my name.

"Michael," I replied. Our eyes locked.

"Where's Alex?" Liz asked. We turned to look at her.

"Crap, I have to find him," I muttered.. I hurried away from the two of them.

"That was weird," I heard Liz say.

I walked outside. Alex was not in the building. He had to be out here somewhere.

"Maria! Wait up!" I heard Liz call after me. She ran up next to me. "I'm gonna head home soon, so I just wanted to say bye to you and Alex, but I can't find him anywhere."

"We got in a fight," I said. Liz sighed heavily.

"You two never used to fight this much," she pointed out.

"Now is not the time," I growled.

"Well, just tell Alex I'll see him tomorrow," she said. She walked over to her car and drove away.

"Alex!" I shouted. He smiled at me. He walked onto the flat asphalt of the parking lot. He seemed slightly less wary than he had before. "Where were you?"

"I went for a walk," he said. "Where's Liz?"

"She went home," I answered. "She'll talk to us tomorrow."

"Oh. Do you need a ride home?" he asked.

"No, I have the car. I'll see you tomorrow," I answered.

"Okay," he replied. "Good night, Maria."

"Night, Alex," I said. We smiled at each other and then walked towards our cars. I didn't know what had happened on his walk, but I was sure it had something to do with Isabel. I would just have to get it out of him tomorrow.

I opened the door of my car and suddenly remembered something. I had totally blown Michael off. I should at least give him a kiss good night. I closed my car door and headed towards where I remembered they had parked the jeep.

There was the jeep. Two people were sitting in it. I could only see the back of Max's head. Maybe Liz hadn't gone home after all.

Then I saw him. It was Michael. Max and Michael were necking! My knees went weak.

"I thought you loved me, Michael," I whispered. "I thought it meant something." I dropped down to my knees, those knees that were no longer able to support. Tears streamed down my face. I couldn't see them anymore, but I knew they were still there.

Then his cool hands were brushing away my tears.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry," he said over and over again. I couldn't stop crying. It hurt so much. Then another pair of hands were pulling me to my feet. It was Isabel. I collapsed against her still sobbing hysterically.

"It's going to be okay, Maria. I'll explain everything," she said softly as she guided me into the jeep. "Calm down, Maria." I slowly did as ordered.

"Okay, Maria. Listen carefully to me," she said. "Michael loves you. Do you understand that?"

"But he was-" I protested. How could he love me? He had Max. Why would he want me?

"Michael loves you. He may not be able to say it to you, but he does," she said firmly.

"Then why-?" I asked. If he loved me why would he need to do things like that with Max? He could do things like that with me.

"He loves Max too. Just look at them," she said, pointing over at Max and Michael. Max was holding Michael so tenderly as Michael sobbed. Michael was crying. I had only seen him do that once before. I focused on them trying to hear what they were saying.

"She's gonna leave me," I heard Michael say.

"She will not. I won't let her leave you," Max's voice said soothingly.

Suddenly all my emotions snapped into place. That was my Michael! Max couldn't have him! He was mine!

"I don't want to share him," I rasped. Max and Michael looked at me.

"I'll do anything," Michael said so softly I could barely hear him. "Don't leave me." Max turned away from us.

"Maria, please," Isabel said softly. "Don't make him choose."

"Why not?" I asked, my voice rasping and wavering. How could she ask that of me? Didn't she understand? Couldn't she comprehend? Michael was mine!

"Because he'll choose you," Max said, his voice shaking. How could he be so sure? How could he know what Michael would choose? Max whirled around, suddenly facing me. "Don't take him away from me. Don't take Michael away too." His eyes were glassy with held back tears. Those eyes struck me straight to the core. Those eyes screamed how much Max cared about Michael. I couldn't bear looking into those eyes. Those eyes that looked like they would cry blood if I took Michael away.

"Okay," I affirmed. I looked at the two of them. They looked so perfect together. It almost hurt to look at them. "It's okay. I don't know what we're gonna do about this, but I won't make you choose, Michael." Michael and Max's stances changed. Michael smiled the sweetest smile. Max's eyes softened, and a smile pulled at the edges of his mouth as well. I felt my whole body relax beneath the sheer joy they had.

"We'll take you home," Isabel said as she sat down next to me.

"Okay," I agreed. The four of us drove away. Belatedly I realized I had left my car. I could get it tomorrow. Tonight I was with my boyfriend, his boyfriend, and his sister. This was really weird.
